VisionPath vs Ocuco Acuitas
Built for chains. Excellent at that. Ocuco is a global optical software company and Acuitas is its practice management product, with a Canadian edition that carries OHIP billing and a bilingual interface. It is strong software for a chain or a large group with a head office, where an omnichannel setup across web and stores is the point. That strength is also why a single independent store can find it more than it needs.
Where Acuitas is the better choice

- OHIP billing and a bilingual English and French interface in the Canadian edition.
- Ocuco also makes lab management software, so a lab running Ocuco and a store running Acuitas connect naturally.
- On-premise as well as cloud, for organisations that require it.
Where VisionPath is
- Fit for one store, or a handful. VisionPath is what the counter needs without a head-office layer above it.
- A published price and a one-off migration fee. Acuitas is quoted.
- The work-order scanner, the assistant and the exam scribe.
- Support from an optician you can name, rather than an enterprise service desk.
